Gwen Russell and Janette Haslam started creating wedding gowns under their own label ‘Russell & Haslam’ in 1997. In their first year they were finalists in the ‘New Designer’ section of the Conde Nast British Bridal Awards arranged by Brides magazine. Russell & Haslam come to the wedding industry with a prestigious pedigree. They have worked together for 20 years making period costumes for film, theatre, TV, opera and ballet. Their work has been honoured with 2 Oscars for costume (Dangerous Liaisons & Henry V) plus 4 further nominations and various television awards. Gwen and Janette warmly invite each bride to their design studio in London (from 2005 a studio in Scotland) by appointment only. Each bride is given individual attention to discuss their requirements. Every design is tailored to suit each client, creating a unique gown that fulfils and reflects each bride’s dreams, desires and personality.
